Skilled Migrant Residence in New Zealance

New Zealand offers several skilled residency pathways for people with in‑demand skills, work experience and long‑term plans to settle here. The right option depends on your occupation, salary, qualifications and how long you’ve been working in New Zealand.

Common employment‑related residence categories include the Skilled Migrant Category (including Skilled Work Experience and Trade and Technician pathways), Green List residence (Tier 1 and Tier 2), and sector‑specific options such as the Care Workforce and Transport sectors. Understanding how your role, experience and pay fit within these settings is an important first step in planning a realistic pathway to residence.
